This is a ticketed event that includes a talk and book signing.

To make this event safe and enjoyable for all attendees, please read the below guidelines ahead of buying a ticket, so you know what to expect on the day. To avoid disappointment, we must stress that there will be no access to the event for non-ticketholders

**Ticket holders will be admitted into the event beginning at 5:00 PM the day of the event. Please have a copy of your ticket available (either printed out or on your phone) for check in.

For Seated Tickets: Limited quantity is available and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Purchase of a ticket guarantees entrance to the event for the discussion and signing line. However, this ticket may not necessarily guarantee a seat at the event, as later arrivals may be placed in a line behind the seated audience.

For Standing Room-Only Tickets: Limited quantity is available and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Purchase of a ticket guarantees entrance to the event for the discussion and signing line. Ticket holders will be granted a standing view from behind the seated audience -- some views may be more limited/obstructed than others, but will still be able to hear the discussion.

GUIDELINES

• The authors will personalize (name only) the book included with this ticket. The authors will sign backlist copies, the number of which will be determined by the number of people in line.
• There will be no sketches, drawings, or written quotes inside books.
• A Barnes & Noble bookseller will take photos on guests' camera / phone during the signing line as the author signs. There will be no posed photos.
• No memorabilia will be signed at the event.
• No large bags will be permitted into the event.
• Any gifts for the author will be collected prior to the signing line.
• The exact time at which the event ends will be determined on the day. To avoid disappointment, we strongly advise you to arrive on time for the event. Late arrivals may not have the opportunity to meet the author.
• Due to health and safety and space limitations, those without a ticket will not be permitted to join the queue.
• All event guidelines are subject to change.

• Barnes & Noble may cancel this event at any time with or without notice to the ticket holders.

REFUNDS:

-Attendees can receive refunds up to 1 day (24 hours) before your event start TIME of 6 PM.

-If you are unable to attend the event, Barnes & Noble - Fairfax, VA will hold your book for seven days after the event. Please contact the store to arrange your pickup.

-Should this event be canceled, all customers will be refunded their ticket price to the original method of payment per Eventbrite's refund policy.

Seth Ring believes that the stories we read and the imagined worlds we inhabit don’t just entertain us: They shape us.

For the first 18 years of his life, Seth grew up traveling back and forth between the U.S. and Ghana. While in Ghana, he sat at the feet of village elders and heard their ancient Anansi stories. (Think Aesop’s Fables, but with a crafty spider- and without the obvious moral at the end.)

Seth also had free reign of his parents’ library. He fell in love with the swashbuckling westerns of Loius L’Amour, the regency romances of Georgette Heyer, and the absurd realism of Terry Pratchet’s Discworld.

John Bierce is a fantasy novelist, history and science buff, SFF fan, and general all-around dork. He’s lived in Kansas, Colorado, Oregon, and Vietnam, but currently resides in Portugal, where he splits his time between enjoying the beautiful weather and lurking ominously among his books.

By the time he’s old, he wants to have spent at least a year of his life having lain in hammocks. (John’s got other life and career goals too, but the hammock bit is the important one.)
