An event where jazz meets techno, featuring live performances and DJ sets
"This is Techno Jazz" returns to Kantine am Berghain, bringing to Berlin the live performance of one of the pioneers of this crossover, Fabrizio Rat, alongside the presentation of Resonances (IT)'s new album Orient Express, out on Jazz-O-Tech in October. Carrying the dancefloor through the night will be the DJ sets of Do You Know Juno, Mattia Prete and Misloop.
Fabrizio Rat (Live) — Composer, pianist and producer, Fabrizio Rat channels the piano into hypnotic techno through his acclaimed solo act La Machina, exploring the border between human and machine, acoustic and electronic sound. Praised across Europe, South America, Japan and Russia — from Trans Musicales to Exit Festival and Buenos Aires' Teatro Colón — with 30+ releases on labels like Bureau B, Optimo and Raster, and a 2026 IRCAM/Centre Pompidou commission.
Resonances (IT) (Live) — The project of Italian producer Leonardo Biscioni, merges classical musical theory with hardware-driven techno. Releases on Truncate, Nechto and KMS, backed by Hawtin, Liebing and Saunderson. Tonight's show celebrates the release of Orient Express, his new Jazz-O-Tech album — an immersive fusion of Jazz Techno with the mystical depth of Arabic and Indian music, imagined as a train crossing exotic landscapes between Eastern chaos and sacred stillness. A record built to hypnotize and make you dream.
Do You Know Juno (DJ Set) — Vinyl DJ Do You Know Juno weaves jazz, disco and house into immersive, narrative-driven sets. Featured on Djoon Paris, HÖR, Refuge Worldwide and alongside Daniel Avery, she also curates Berlin's "Jazz on Toast" and "Burnin' to Blue" parties.
Mattia Prete (DJ Set) — Berlin-based DJ, producer, and label manager whose musical vision represents a sophisticated fusion of the rigor of club culture and the expressive freedom of jazz.
His work as an A&R and curator has found its highest expression in the double compilation and the eponymous party *This is Lechno Jazz*, an ambitious project that has fostered a dialogue between techno pioneers and jazz virtuosos.
Misloop (DJ Set) — A Tianjin born, Jin Xue is a DJ whose relationship with the dance floor began in 2005 and took shape within Shanghai’s underground club scene.
Now based in Berlin, misloop draws from hypnotic techno, UK bass and breaks. Her selections may shift across styles, but the intention remains constant: rhythm, momentum and a high energy dance floor.
Jazz-o-Tech is a label that draws on the rich heritage of jazz and techno, two of music's most visionary and experimental genes. Mixing tradition with modernity, improvisation with experimentation, the label creates a new sound: techno-jazz. A musical journey into unknown dimensions and emotions.
