Authors & Insights: Kevin Roose and the History of AI

Award-winning New York Times journalist, cohost of the hit tech podcast, Hard Fork, and bestselling author Kevin Roose joins Authors & Insights to launch his behind-the-scenes account of the trillion-dollar sprint to create artificial general intelligence (AGI) in his new book The AGI Chronicles: The Inside Story of the Race to Create an Artificial Superintelligence.

Drawing on more than 150 interviews with insiders at OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind, as well as unpublished company documents and research memos, Roose reconstructs the most consequential decade in tech history.

Roose will be joined by Thomas L. Friedman, an internationally known author, reporter, and columnist. Friedman’s foreign affairs column in The New York Times, which he has written since 1995, reports on U.S. domestic politics and foreign policy, Middle East conflicts, international economics, environment, biodiversity, and energy. He has been with The New York Times since 1981. He is the recipient of three Pulitzer Prizes; and author of seven best-selling books.
