Overview
Composed amid Europe’s political upheaval, this ballet\-chanté was Kurt Weill’s final work before emigrating to the United States.
The story follows Anna I (a singer) and Anna II (a dancer) – two split sides of one woman determined to earn a better life for herself, travelling through 7 cities across the country, returning to Louisiana to finally buy a home for her and her family.
