Discover how great neighborhoods are designed. Urban De-Code DMV is a two-day immersive experience featuring interactive workshops, collaborative design charrettes, and guided walking tours that examine housing, density, and the built environment across the Washington region.

Saturday, September 12
Kick off the weekend with breakfast and networking at Torti Gallas + Partners, followed by an exclusive office tour.

Learn the fundamentals of urban planning during an Urban Planning 101 session before putting those concepts into practice in a collaborative design charrette exploring the future of one of DC's campus.

After lunch, we'll hop on Metro to Arlington for a guided urban transect walk from Pentagon City to Crystal City, examining how density, land use, transportation, and public space shape one of the region's most urban neighborhoods. We'll wrap up the day with a group happy hour and dinner.

Sunday, September 13
Day two is all about experiencing urbanism firsthand. Following a morning coffee meetup, participants will embark on a guided walk tour through two of Southeast Washington's Hope VI neighborhoods. The tour will end at Eastern Market, where participants can continue the conversation over lunch.
