The Art of Appliqué

Join us at the Mood Fabrics Showroom in Ponce City Market for The Art of Appliqué, an interactive, hands-on workshop where fabric meets fine art!

Whether you're looking to elevate your quilting projects, add flair to home décor, or customize your favorite garments, this two-hour class will teach you essential machine appliqué techniques to bring your creative ideas to life.

What You’ll Do

• Watch & Learn: Enjoy a live demonstration on machine appliqué techniques, stitch variations, and working with fusible webbing.
• Practice Your Skills: Master sewing around tight curves, pivoting smoothly around corners, and experimenting with decorative stitches on a sturdier 12" x 12" denim fabric.
• Design & Stitch: Cut out shapes and patterns from a rich selection of provided fabric remnants to create your own unique mini art piece.

What to Bring

• Sentimental Scraps (Optional): We will provide plenty of fabric remnants, but feel free to bring fabric scraps, special prints, or sentimental textiles from home to incorporate into your piece!
• A Final Project Item (Optional): Want to test your new skills right away? Bring a t-shirt, sweatshirt, canvas tote, or hat from home to plan your next masterpiece!

What's Included in Your Ticket

• Full access to sewing machines and tools during class.
• A 12" x 12" denim fabric base and a selection of fabric scraps.
• Take-Home Kit: Your registration includes a disappearing-ink pen to take home so you can keep creating!
