Threat Evaluation and Reporting Overview (TERO) In-Person

The National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Program Office works directly with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial and private sector (F/SLTTP) partners to protect the American people and build capacity to: recognize the warning signs of terrorism and mass violence, triage suspicious activity reporting (SAR), and address threatening or concerning behaviors before an individual escalates to violence.

Through National Programs, Bystander Awareness Training, Terrorism & Mass Violence Prevention Resources, and Partner & Program Support, NTER strategically engages homeland security partners to advance their threat identification and mitigation capabilities, protect public officials, safeguard critical infrastructure, and secure the Homeland.

The Threat Evaluation and Reporting Overview (TERO) is a free four-hour in-person introductory training intended for the public and community members who play a role in identifying threats or observable behaviors that may concern others.

The TERO emphasizes the importance of community involvement and raises awareness about the behavioral approach to violence prevention, while respecting privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties.

This workshop is made available at no cost to participants through grant funding provided to the Office of Homeland Security, underscoring a strategic investment in prevention-focused training efforts that advance community safety and reduce targeted violence and attacks.
