Overview

Elevate your understanding and your skills in this three part sourdough masterclass course! Take one, two, or all three for a discount.

SUMMARY:

This class will deep dive into the microbiome of sourdough starters. You'll learn how to use different flours, ratios, and feeding techniques to suit your preferences and baking needs. We'll talk about how to create a feeding schedule that works for you AND your starter as well as backup storage options like drying and freezing. We will go over proper maintenance and helpful tools to keep in your kitchen.

Let's experiment with different flours! We will discuss the difference in higher or lower hydrations and the impact of using whole grain flour, heirloom wheats, ancient grains, and other ingredients . The world of sourdough is full of endless possibilities!

WHAT YOU'LL TAKE HOME:

Included in the class is a portion of personalized sourdough starter that you mix in class. You will also take home a specialty loaf of your choice and a goody bag of mixed flours/grains to use in your baking at home. You will have access to our class notes and recipes.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATIONS:

Please make sure you will be able to attend before submitting payment, as we will not be issuing refunds or transfers for cancellations UNLESS we are able to fill your spot. You are also welcome to send someone in your place, if you are no longer able to attend. If you are unable to attend and we are not able to issue you a refund or transfer, you will still be able to come pick up your workshop materials at a later date. This must be scheduled in advance to ensure all materials are available for you when you arrive!

ADDITIONAL INFO:

***If the front door is locked when you arrive, please ring the doorbell, and someone will assist you.

***Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before the workshop begins. Everyone will gather in the indoor market area until we are ready to begin.

***Individuals over 15 years old are welcome to attend. Younger kids must be accompanied by an adult.

***There is no gluten free option for this workshop. If you have a gluten allergy, please do not attend!

***Space will be tight! Please be considerate. We will only have room for individuals accepted into the workshop. No room for extra guests.

***Appropriate attire for this workshop: Hair pulled back and covered with a hat or headband, full length pants, and close-toed non-slip shoes. An apron is optional but recommended. Flour and dough will come out of clothes in the wash, but please be prepared!
