Creative Flow Sessions with Julie Root Sawyer

Join Julie Root Sawyer at The Mill District Local Art Gallery this fall for a series of Friday morning process-based workshops where exploration and creative risk-taking are encouraged. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, each session invites you to play, learn, and reconnect with the joy of creating. Each workshop is a stand-alone experience - attend one or join the entire series! See pricing specials below.

Discover the magic of alcohol inks and delaminating inks as you create vibrant, expressive landscapes inspired by nature. Through guided demonstrations and playful experimentation, you'll explore color, movement, and the beautiful unpredictability of these exciting mediums. No experience is necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to explore. You'll leave with a finished artwork, new techniques, and the confidence to continue creating.

NOTE: Alcohol ink can stain clothes. Attendees may want to bring an apron. Julie will provide gloves.

• Sept 18: Alcohol Ink Landscapes: exploring movement, color, & unpredictability
• Sept 25: Alcohol Ink Flowers: exploring saturated colors, form, & pattern
• **Oct 2: NO CLASS**
• Oct. 9: Abstract Watercolor Landscapes: exploring mark-making & movement
• Oct. 16: Delaminating Inks: exploring the textural qualities of delaminating inks
• Oct 23: Delaminating In Seascapes: exploring ocean-inspired abstract compositions

Workshops run from 10:30-12pm.

$50 per class, includes all materials. Preregistration required.
