- Root Shock
Conscious, soulful, even healing—that’s how many fans of Root Shock have described the band’s infectious sound and energy. They’ve developed a voice that transcends genre but can make anyone move their body and uplift their spirit.
Spearheaded by the powerhouse vocals of Jessica Brown, the Root Shock sound is both commanding and cathartic, but never at the expense of a velvety, carefully placed jazz or funk lick or a deep reggae foundation. Phil Grajko’s smooth vocals complement his guitar style inspired by Latin, prog, and psychedelic rock textures—often in tandem with mad keyboard genius Brian Lauri. Rounding out the band, bassist Elliot Jarvis and drummer Tyre Outerbridge make for a formidable rhythm section fluent in patterns ranging from reggae to funk to rock and maybe even metal.
These songs are proof of the band’s democratic songwriting process, with thoughtful lyrics from Brown and Grajko that invoke hope in dark times, warn against injustice, and dare to dream of something better. Always honest and thought-provoking. With multiple albums & EPs, music videos & East Coast tours, several Syracuse Area Music Awards, the Root Shock sound continues to evolve with a new album currently in the works.
Today, Root Shock is bringing their renowned live show to clubs, festivals, and concert halls across the Northeast and beyond, delighting audiences from all walks of life with a positive message and danceable tunes.
- Annie In The Water
Annie in the Water is an experience and a culture of compassion and joy. The band's Americana Indie Rock found its roots in acoustic guitars without limits. Their songwriting, led by guitars and synthesizers overtop a ground-shaking rhythm section, offers the listener the ability to traverse across multiple genres in heart and in mind.
Because every show is different, experiencing the music of Annie in the Water live can be compared to paddling with a river. At times you may find yourself in the calm of the flow while at other times you may be deep in the rapids while the music churns and grows in energy. With the ebbs and flows you’re reminded of the constant that you are a part of something greater than yourself, working together with the forces around you and caught in the midst of a beautiful moment in time.
