Susan Rice: Funny Old Bag — Live at the Historic Lobo Theater

Susan Rice: Funny Old Bag — Live at the Historic Lobo Theater

Overview

She spent 40 years in comedy clubs. Then one set hit 50 million views. Susan Rice brings Funny Old Bag to Nob Hill for one night only.

Susan Rice spent forty years working comedy clubs before the internet caught up.

Then a ten-minute set called "funny old bag" landed on Don't Tell Comedy, crossed 50 million views, and at 72 she became the comic everyone suddenly wanted to book.

She is not a novelty act. She first stepped on a stage in 1983, moved to Los Angeles in 1986, and has spent four decades sharpening the same knife, opening for Jerry Seinfeld, Paula Poundstone, Rich Shydner, and more recently Maria Bamford and Arsenio Hall. She just finally got the room she deserved.

What came after the internet found her: Netflix's Star Search reboot. A feature in Vulture. An invitation from America's Got Talent. Her own special, Silver Alert. Her first album, recorded at 73. And back home in North Portland, the St. Johns Comedy Festival, which she founded to put money back into her own neighborhood's small businesses.

Now she's on a national tour, and on Sunday, September 20 she plays the Historic Lobo Theater in Nob Hill for one night.

Doors 6:00 PM. Show 7:00 PM. General admission seats are $25. Ages 18 and over.
