A showcase of handmade, avant-garde fashion lines from queer, Chicago-based designers.
Looks by nine designers with a range of experience levels, styles, and backgrounds. Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm. See you there.
Until now, Chicago Fashion Week has never had an explicitly LGBTQ+ runway — we are proud to be the first.
This show was born from togetherness: our models are our neighbors, our inspiration is our community, and our intention is to showcase queer art for queer people.
Artistic Statement: Queer Couture Runway embodies our audacity to create, to subvert, and to showcase the breadth and depth of our perspectives through avant-garde aesthetics. Hosted by a collective of queer, independent, Chicago-based fashion designers, our show embraces creatives of all experience levels, identities, and styles who want to answer the question, “What does queerness mean to you/me/us?”
Artistic directed by Emma Yarger.
Produced by Madison Smith.
