Where do I park?

We are next to the Center St. garage in downtown Royal Oak. All garage parking in RO is free for the first two hours.

Is registration required?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our physical space is small and our book clubs often fill up. By registering, you allow us to plan appropriately in how we prepare the store for the event.

Question 3

Do I have to read the book?

Accepted Answer

We encourage you to make every effort to read -- and finish -- the book before book club. The discussion will be more interesting to you! But we know things happen and you're still welcome to come if you haven't finished it (and you're OK with a spoiler or two!)

Question 4

Can I bring a friend or caretaker?

Yes! Friends participating in book club must also register. If you have more than one friend interested, we suggest forming your own book club simply because we lack the space to host groups within the club. We are happy to help with book suggestions to get your own club started!

Question 5

Can I bring my child?

Accepted Answer

Sidetrack book clubs are not appropriate for kids; the topics discussed are often adult in nature and there is adult language. A teen can register with their parent if the parent is OK with it (and also attends). We also welcome nursing/young infants with their adults!
