In the second gathering of the Sawyer Seminar Series, Davarian L. Baldwin examines academic freedom and community engagement within the context of the neoliberal university. How can the university continue to stand for the principles of academic freedom that rest on the production of knowledge for the public good?
Davarian L. Baldwin is the Paul E. Raether Distinguished Professor of American Studies and founding director of the Smart Cities Research Lab and at Trinity College-Hartford and author of In the Shadow of the Ivory Tower: How Universities Are Plundering Our Cities.
