IJPA Speed Puzzling Competition

Welcome to the Irish National Speed Puzzling Competition!

Come join us for a thrilling day of fast-paced puzzle-solving! Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, this competition is perfect for all puzzle lovers. Challenge yourself, meet like-minded individuals, and have a blast in a friendly and competitive environment.

Individual will starting at 11am and Pairs will start at 2pm. There will be a time limit of 2 hours for each.

Registration

Registration is open to all. To place first, second or third in Individuals you must be a resident of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. To place first, second or third in Pairs at least one of you must be a resident of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The achievements of others will be acknowledged.

Competition Rules

• Do not open your bag or puzzle until you are told to.
• Be respectful of puzzlers around you.
• Any pieces dropped on the ground will be left in the position they fall in. Judges will place a coloured post-it note underneath for visibility.
• Plastic bags that are thrown on the floor will be collected by Judges after the competition start. Any pieces left in bags will be placed on the floor where the bag fell with a post-it note underneath.
• Let us know when you are finished.
• Hands off at 2 hours. Put remaining pieces into piles of 10 and wait for them to be counted and recorded. Any pieces not connected in groups of three or more pieces will be counted as incomplete.
• A five second penalty will be applied per missing piece when a competitor declares they are complete.
• If two or more adjacent pieces are missing, this is treated as a manufacturing defect and no penalties will be applied.
• Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
• By participitating in this competition you consent to photos and video of the day being used on social media and the IJPA website or future promotional material.

This event will be livestreamed on YouTube and photos will be taken. By attending this event you consent to both.

Event Details:
Date: November 21st 2026
Location: Maldron Dublin Airport Hotel. Anyone attending the event can get their parking ticket validated at reception. If you are travelling by public transport, there are plenty of buses to the airport and the hotel provides a shuttle to and from the airport. There is a cafe onsite opened from 12.
Time: Doors opn at 10am. Individuauls: 11-1pm am. Pairs: 2 - 4pm.
Prizes: Prizes for both events are generously provided by Ravensburger.
