About the Film: What if our last act could be a gift to the planet? Determined that his final resting place will benefit the Earth, musician, psychiatrist, and folk dancer Clark Wang prepares for his own green burial while battling lymphoma. The spirited Clark and his partner Jane, boldly facing his mortality, embrace the planning of a spiritually meaningful funeral and join with a compassionate local cemetary to use green burial to save a North Carolina woods from being clear-cut. With poignancy and unexpected humor, A Will for the Woods portrays the last days of a multifaceted advocate – and one community's role in the genesis of a revolutionary movement. Followed by a panel reflection and audience discussion about green burials options.

An online and in-person Silent Auction starts on August 30, 2026 and ends on September 12, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Some of the items include a 6-day vacation at a farmhouse on Morse Mountain, near Sewell Beach in Phippsburg, Maine, a Camden Sail to Pulpit Harbor with a gourmet lunch, tickets to the Camden International Film Festival, a yearly subscription to ScrapDog, an overnight stay in an Appleton Cabin with a hot tub, a wooden coffin, beautiful artwork by local artists, a canoe/hike trip, dog training, chocolate, and other items. Oh, and if you’re only bidding online and not going to the event, find someone to keep bidding for you while you’re there.
