RMP WORKSHOP - Songwriting 101: Finding Your Voice and Confidence
Learn songwriting and find your creative voice with instructor Shane Hines in this welcoming 4-week course for all levels.

Cost: $140 for the four-week course
Songwriting can feel intimidating—but it doesn’t have to be. This four-week course is based on a simple idea: songwriting is a craft, and like any craft, it becomes easier and more enjoyable as you learn how it works.
Participants will explore where song ideas come from, how to develop those ideas, and how to discover their own creative voice. Each session will build on the previous week, giving participants practical skills and the confidence to put them into action.
This is a welcoming course for everyone, whether you have never written a song, have been carrying an idea around for years, or simply want to learn more about songwriting. No previous experience is required.
Participants should have access to a music-streaming service such as Apple Music, Spotify, or Amazon Music.
About the Instructor:
Shane Hines is a songwriter, producer, performer, and educator. During seven years as a Nashville staff writer, he collaborated with acclaimed songwriters and artists including Lori McKenna, Jim Lauderdale, and Brad Tursi. His work has appeared on Netflix, ABC, MTV, and VH1, and his songs have been recorded by artists including Steve Holy and Matt McAndrew.
Shane is a three-time John Lennon Songwriting Contest finalist and has served as a judge for American Songwriter magazine. He previously taught at Shenandoah Conservatory and brings a warm, direct, and practical approach to helping students discover their voices and strengthen their craft.
