The Czech Center New York actively promotes Czechia by showcasing Czech culture, innovations and creativity in the US. Our program includes concerts, screenings, exhibitions, panel discussions, and other events dedicated to a vast range of areas from visual and performing arts, film, literature, and music to architecture, design, fashion, and innovations. In addition to hosting our own events, we support and collaborate with other groups dedicated to intercultural initiatives in New York and beyond.The Event organizer has the right to refuse the attendees entrance to the venue despite previous registration due to capacity and security measures. Participants must arrive on time, in case of late arrival, the organizer cannot guarantee that your registration will still be valid.

Šárka is a trained teacher of Czech and French language and literature. Originally from Tábor in South Bohemia, she lived in Prague for many years before moving to New York two years ago. She has more than ten years of teaching experience in elementary and high schools, a language center, and private lessons with both native speakers and international students. Alongside teaching, she also writes about food. For Šárka, languages and gastronomy share one essential quality: they bring people together.

The one-semester course consists of 15 online sessions each 90 minutes in length. The base price for the semester is $600. If you have taken a previous Czech Language Course at the CCNY, ask your instructor for the discount code that you can enter at check out for the discounted price of $550. If you register for free and opt to pay via check, you must send a check with the full payment prior to the first class.
