Beyond the Disclosure

Understanding Family-Controlled Human Trafficking, Organized Abuse, Complex Trauma, and Child Protection

November 10, 2026 | Virtual Symposium

Family-controlled human trafficking and organized abuse remain among the most hidden and misunderstood forms of exploitation. Professionals across disciplines are increasingly encountering these cases, yet many have received little or no training on how to recognize the unique dynamics, respond effectively, or support survivors in a trauma-informed way.

Beyond the Disclosure is a one-day, survivor-led, clinician-informed virtual symposium designed to bridge that gap.

Join nationally recognized survivor leaders, clinicians, researchers, forensic interviewers, victim advocates, and multidisciplinary professionals for an immersive day of learning focused on understanding these complex forms of abuse and strengthening professional responses.

Participants will gain practical knowledge on topics including:

  • Family-controlled human trafficking and organized abuse
  • Complex trauma, dissociation, and neurobiology
  • Survivor-centered responses
  • Child protection and systems change
  • Forensic interviewing and investigative considerations
  • Practical tools for professionals working with children and adult survivors

This symposium is designed for:

  • Social workers
  • Mental health professionals
  • Child welfare professionals
  • Educators
  • Medical professionals
  • Victim advocates
  • Law enforcement
  • Attorneys
  • Multidisciplinary team members
  • Anyone committed to improving child protection and survivor outcomes

Whether you’re new to this topic or have years of experience, Beyond the Disclosure will challenge assumptions, deepen understanding, and equip you with practical tools to better serve children, families, and survivors.

Registration includes access to all live presentations. Virtual access information will be provided to registered participants prior to the symposium
