Prenatal & Postpartum Massage Certification — 4-Day Intensive

Ready to expand your practice and serve one of the most rewarding (and underserved) populations in bodywork? This 32-hour, NCBTMB-approved training gives you the skills, confidence, and certification to work safely and effectively with pregnant and postpartum clients.

Taught by a Licensed Midwife who has lived and breathed the work, privilege, and honor of supporting people through their conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys.

Take Day 1 as a standalone Fundamentals class, or continue through Days 2–4 for the full intensive and Prenatal Bodywork Certification.

What's Included

  • Extensive hands-on training + live technique demos
  • Lecture and participatory discussion
  • 1.5-hour supervised prenatal massage clinic with real clients
  • Individualized feedback on your technique
  • Client intake forms & take-home handouts
  • Written exam
  • Prenatal Bodywork Certification upon completion

The 4-Day Breakdown

Day 1 — Fundamentals
Benefits, precautions, and contraindications of prenatal massage. Recognizing physiological changes and high-risk symptoms. Myth vs. fact. Intro to postural assessment, safe positioning, and draping.

Day 2 — Hands-On Demo
Live demonstrations of side-lying, prone, and semi-reclined bodywork. Practice belly massage, diaphragm release, and body mechanics that protect you while creating ease for your client.

Day 3 — Student Application
Apply the full series with guided feedback: pelvic alignment, SI joint and pelvic floor release, acupressure and energetic assessment, and trimester-specific labor-prep adaptations.

Day 4 — Clinic + Certification of Completion
As a value of centering community care and hands-on learning, our training includes a pregnancy massage clinic day, where students get to practice their learned skills on pregnant volunteers from the community — this continues to be a highlight for participants! You'll complete a 1.5-hour supervised prenatal clinic with individualized evaluation, cover client intake and medical release protocols, round out your training with postpartum floor series and practical marketing guidance, then finish with your written exam and certification.

Why This Training
This program is safety-based, not fear-based. You'll learn the real rationale behind massage cautions and contraindications — not outdated myths — so you can confidently offer full-body work at whatever pressure your client prefers, without unnecessary restriction.

You'll also become a Certified Touch For Birth™ Practitioner, trained in integrative pelvic bodywork for pelvic rebalancing, hip/low back pain relief, sciatica relief, and easier breathing through rib and diaphragm release.

Who Should Attend
Licensed massage therapists and bodyworkers looking to add a specialized, in-demand skill set — and grow their client base — with prenatal and postpartum care.
