Inspired by my ancestors that lived in turn-of-the-20th-century New York, AUNT TRIXIE is a spiritual journey dressed up as a cabaret show.
I was already living in New York City when I discovered a great-great-grandaunt who was born on the same day as me, September 28th, 105 years apart. This revelation sent me down countless rabbit holes—through genealogy & astrology research, New York & U.S. history, theatre archives, and more. Before I knew it the very context of my life was being rewritten.
AUNT TRIXIE is the story of those revelations woven together with my own journey of love and heartbreak, self-discovery and healing. With early 20th-century melodies set against the backdrop of the Empire City, it's a show that uncovers the magical belonging that transcends time and space.
