Sarasota County Farm and Ranch Tour: Learn Our Agricultural Roots

Join us during Farm-City Week to celebrate and learn about Sarasota County's long history of farming and ranching by visiting some of the county's diverse agricultural operations! This is a fun-filled, educational, day-long tour. We also will see some of Sarasota County's natural beauty.

$75 per person includes transportation, lunch, and entry into all hosting sites. Reservations and advance payment are required (refunds not available).

Tour stops include:

• Underhill Ranch/Prescribed Burn
• Fox Lea Farms
• The Farm - McIntosh Middle School
• SweetSong Groves

Lunch will be served by the Sarasota County Farm Bureau and will include hamburgers, hot dogs and sides. Attendees with dietary restrictions can bring their own lunch.

Knowledgeable speakers and guides will make the trip fun and educational.

Check in at the UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County 0ffice (6600 Clark Road, Sarasota) at least 30 minutes before the start of the tour. There will be parking at this location.

Registration closes 5 p.m. Nov. 11.

Optimize your experience: Wear boots or tennis shoes and clothing for variable temperatures. Note these are working farms. So, you might experience wet, uneven, and rough terrain. Some items to consider bringing with you: wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and rain jacket. Water will be provided, or you can bring your own reusable bottles.

NOTE: Tours tend to sell out quickly so we encourage you to purchase tickets in advance. The tour will go on rain or shine. A listening aid system will be available to all attendees.
