Come roll with us for our 3rd Joyride, a multi-surface (pavement &amp; gravel) group ride co-hosted by B &amp; Lauren from Queer+ Bikes and Rebe from RebeExplores! Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just in it for a fun, social spin, this ride is all about getting outside, connecting with community, and enjoying the road ahead. It's also the 8th stage of Tour de France Femmes 2026!We'll have a couple pace groups depending with options between 10-14mph average and a 14mph+ "free range" (no official lead/sweep). (UPDATED 8/6 Due to heat / AQI):<ul><li>We’re shortening the 10-12mph and 12-14mph no-drop groups to <a href="https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56500579" title="https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56355720" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">23 miles</a> (You are welcome to ride the <a href="https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56355720" title="https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56355720" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">original 35 mile route</a> as a “free range” ride, on your own/with others at your own risk). There are no planned services on either route.</li><li>We will make a call by 6am on Saturday morning to CANCEL the ride if the AQI is predicted to be sustained at or above 100 for all or most of the ride time OR if the temperatures continue to climb. We will not have a meet up at all if we cancel due for these reasons. This final email will be sent through Eventbrite and posted on our Instagram.</li><li>If you decide you do NOT want to ride, no matter what call we make on Saturday morning, please cancel your RSVP in Eventbrite.</li></ul>Also! Sadly, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/rebeexplores/" title="https://www.instagram.com/rebeexplores/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Rebe</a>, is recovering from an injury and will not be able to leader one of the rides. But we've got you taken care of!Feel free to come and only ride part of the route - it's your ride!Because it's been so dang hot, come at 8:00am to socialize, grab some performance-enhancing glitter and make sure you have everything you need and be ready for ride announcements around 8:20am for a 8:30am departure. This will be a little less formal for socializing than our previous rides, but we'll have some treats to kick-off your ride.Bring your bike and gear, and come ride with us. Carpooling or riding to the start is always encouraged, parking available at the Lee Martinez Park Parking LotAll are welcome!Expectations:<ul><li>You are responsible for you! While two options will be no-drop, we do have specified pace groups, so please ride within your means. Additionally, please have a back-up plan and someone to contact if you have a bike failure that can't be repaired, take a fall and can't complete the ride, or don't want to complete the route for any other reason.</li><li>We ask that you show up with kindness by being a great cycling steward, assume good intent, and exhibit responsible group ride etiquette by communicating and being predictable.</li><li>We ride with the general mantra of come for the bikes, stay for the community: We might get a good work out in, or we might be soft pedaling and making new friends, above all we’re here for joy</li></ul>What to bring:<ul><li>The route loaded on your phone or navigation device. We will have a lead and sweep for two of the pace group, but expect that you can follow the route on your own in case you are between the lead/sweep.</li><li>A working bike (don't forget your ABCs - check your tire pressure, your brakes, and lube you chain)</li><li>A helmet</li><li>Enough nutrition &amp; water for your body and needs</li><li>Layers (and somewhere to put them)</li><li>Sunscreen - It's Colorado, enough said!</li><li>A good attitude</li><li>Extra tube (even if you're tubeless)</li></ul>
