Join us for some relaxed creative time! Choose a piece of handmade pottery and decorate it using vibrant underglazes.
This class is open to all experience levels. Students must be age 8+. Kids ages 8-16 must be accompanied by an adult.
During this session, you’ll learn how to create beautiful designs on pottery. The class will start with a demo for painting successfully with underglazes, including how to layer color, mix colors, ensure vibrancy, outline designs, and more. You'll then be able to freely decorate your piece with whatever design you choose.
Your canvas — a piece of pottery — is handmade and wheel thrown by your instructor, Jess Young. You can choose between a spoon rest, a donut plate, or a tumbler.
At the end of the workshop, your piece will stay at the studio to be clear glazed and kiln fired. You’ll be able to pick up your finished, food-safe work 2-3 weeks after the class.
Class is held on Friday, October 2, from 6:00-8:00pm at 853 Hiawatha Pl S in Seattle.
