DIANA - Stephen Smith

DIANA - Stephen Smith

Overview

A son celebrates his remarkable mother while discovering that love means being fully present with those we cherish.

DIANA follows a son trying to hold onto his mother while learning that love is not about saving the people we love from loss, but being fully present with them while we still can. Through storytelling, character work, humor, and live piano, Stephen and his mother Diana move through birthday celebrations, road trips, phone calls, family traditions, and plans for the future. As Stephen struggles to preserve each moment, Diana teaches through the way she lives: never focus only on what is wrong when there remains so much worth celebrating. What began as Stephen’s attempt to process loss became something larger—a celebration of a woman whose joy, humor, resilience, faith, kindness, and love shaped everyone around her. Funny and deeply moving, DIANA explores family, memory, grief, presence, joy, and the enduring ways the people we love continue to live through us.
