BELLYFUL - Vivia Armstrong
A personal journey through body image, disability, abuse, addiction and family toward freedom, confidence and self-acceptance.
BELLYFUL is Vivia E. Armstrong’s one-woman exploration of a deceptively simple question: What is really filling her belly—physically, mentally, and spiritually? The hour-long work confronts obesity, disability, self-image, abuse, addiction, family dynamics, self-discovery, and confidence through Armstrong’s deeply personal journey toward freedom and acceptance. Rather than treating the belly as merely physical, the show opens it into a larger examination of everything a person carries: experiences, wounds, relationships, perceptions of the body, and the forces that shape how we understand ourselves. Armstrong describes herself as being in “full swing of freedom and acceptance” and believes sharing this story can help others who have faced similar struggles. Drawing on the fearlessness, humor, faith, and emotional openness that characterize her work, BELLYFUL ultimately turns a story about what weighs us down into one about self-discovery, confidence, connection, and the possibility of accepting ourselves more completely.
