Who are the Virtual Cuppas for?

These sessions are for parent carers in Cornwall who have a child or young person with special educational needs and/or disabilities. You do not need a diagnosis to attend.

What happens during a Virtual Cuppa?

It is a relaxed online space to connect with other parent carers, share experiences, ask general questions, or simply listen. It is informal and you are very welcome to join in whatever way feels comfortable.

Question 3

Do I have to have my camera on?

Accepted Answer

No. Cameras are completely optional. You can keep your camera off for the whole session if that feels better for you.

Question 4

Do I have to speak?

Accepted Answer

No. You can speak, use the chat, or just listen. There is no pressure to share anything.

Question 5

Can I join late or leave early?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We know parent carers are busy and things can change quickly at home. Please come and go as you need to.

Question 6

Will the session be recorded?

Accepted Answer

No. CPCF will not record the session. We also ask everyone attending not to take screenshots, photographs, or recordings.

Question 7

Is this confidential?

Accepted Answer

We ask everyone to respect other people’s privacy and not repeat personal stories outside the session. CPCF may use anonymous themes from conversations to help represent parent carer voice, but we will not use names or identifying details.

Question 8

Can CPCF help with my individual case?

Accepted Answer

CPCF cannot provide individual casework, legal advice, or advocacy. We can listen, signpost where we can, and use the themes parent carers share to inform our wider work with partners.

Question 9

Can I come if I am having a difficult time?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You are very welcome. These sessions are intended to be friendly and supportive. If you need urgent help or someone is at risk of harm, please contact the appropriate emergency or crisis service.
