Edge of the Woods Native Plant Nursery, LLC specializes in plants native to the mid-atlantic region.  We are a retail, container nursery, offering trees, shrubs, and perennials.  Our 10 acre site includes a large selection of native plants for sale, as well as demonstration gardens, an American Chestnut Orchard, a sample hedgerow, meadow and more.

Join us for a guided walk through our gardens to look for pollinators, caterpillars, birds, frogs, and other critters! Fun for all ages!

Edge of the Woods Native Plant Nursery, LLC

Join our horticulturalist, Brandon for a free guided walk through the demonstration gardens to look for pollinators like bees, butterflies, hummingbird moths, and hummingbirds. Our gardens have many larval host plants we can scour to search for caterpillars. We will also look for frogs in our aquatic plant displays and see some other critters like songbirds, chipmunks, and maybe even our resident red squirrel. There is always something to see at the nursery!Feel free to bring your field guides and magnifying glasses to identify insects we find. We will have printed "critter guides" that have images of common insects and other animals we see regularly at the nursery. Fun for children to look at while we walk around.This is a fun tour for all ages! We encourage you to bring your children, grandchildren, and other little explorers in your life. We do ask all children are accompanied by an adult. Expect to spend about 60 minutes walking around with Brandon. This tour is free, but we ask you register so we know how many folks will be joining us.Please be sure to wear sturdy footwear, sunscreen, and sun hats. We will have this tour rain or shine. But in the event of severe weather or very heavy rain, we will need to cancel. We will notify you of any cancellations at the email you used to register.
