Get ready to step back in time and party like it’s the Roaring Twenties at the ultimate speakeasy bash!
Before Cheverly officially became a town in 1931, during the height of Prohibition, imagine that the friendliest—and certainly the best-dressed—neighbors gathered for one final "town" meeting during the Roaring Twenties. Or... was it really a meeting?
Perhaps it was the evening that convinced everyone Cheverly should become a town. Perhaps important decisions were made over jazz music and whispered conversations. Perhaps neighbors debated the future of the community while sampling one another's finest specialty cocktails. The truth may never be known...
This September, CHVProm invites you to step into that story and become part of the "meeting" that could have led to Cheverly's incorporation in 1931. For this special 95 years of Cheverly "Speakeasy" theme, there will not be reserved tables or the traditional table decorating competition. Instead, this year's event features a free-flowing "town meeting" with high-top tables designed to encourage mingling, conversation, and meeting new neighbors. Guests are invited to dress in their finest Roaring Twenties attire and enjoy an evening of music, dancing, and a specialty cocktail competition.
