We're not totally Scrooged yet
Science Tonight! is a late-night comedy talk show with guests scientists who are prepared, and improvisers who are not, to talk about science. Host Dr. Mark Popinchalk and the Science Tonight! reporting team are going to have their hands full keeping the show on the road as scientists and literal forces of nature have their turn in the hot seat.
It's Climate Week and Science Tonight! is bringing you visions of climates past, present and future. Join a microbe Peleton instructor through the carbon cycle record, witness the "Eternal Summer Collection" that the billionaires are designing for us, and catch a glimpse of the show from 2365 where we've figured our climate impact out.
With special guest political scientist and performer Dr. Andrea Jones-Rooy! She'll share the cutting edge research and her optimism for finding climate solutions.
Dr. Mark Popinchalk (he/him) is an astronomer at the American Museum of Natural History, an adjunct professor, and host of the comedy talk show Science Tonight. He is also a planetarium presenter, ultimate frisbee player, and bread maker. His favorite color is sky-blue-pink. (@markpopinchalk)
Kristina Gustovich (she/her) is an Earth scientist, performer, and educator. On stage, she’s puttin’ on the Ritz in Yesterday’s Horoscope and reporting live from Science, Tonight! Off stage, Kristina is a doctoral student at Columbia's Teachers College studying science education in informal settings like museums (and Caveat!). Find her at @mucho_gustovich on Instagram.
Garima Raheja (she/her) is an environmental scientist who got her PhD by almost cancelling pizza in NYC. She now works on decarbonization and has previously been on Facts Machine, Friends with Caveats, and Bio on Tap. Find her on insta: @garima_raheja
Noah Masur (he/him) is a technology professional who occasionally humiliates himself on stage. He has tried to learn how to whistle over the years but he still can’t, and whenever he mentions this to anyone they immediately start whistling in front of him as if that will help somehow. Don’t find him online.
