Countertenor: Anthony Roth Costanzo on the voice that helped define opera

One of the world’s most acclaimed opera singers, Anthony Roth Costanzo takes us on a journey through his life, his education in art and the history of his extraordinary voice in his new book, “Countertenor.” He will join former Boston Globe classical music critic and Tufts University music professor Jeremy Eichler to explore the evolution of the countertenor voice — from its roots in the Baroque era to its role in shaping opera today — and the ways this remarkable sound changes our understanding of music, identity and artistic expression. Costanzo will also perform select arias during the event.
