Overview

Join The Gentlethem's Club: a subversive rock cabaret. Burlesque, music, circus & queer revolution. One night only. September 12.

The Lavender Sleaze presents: The Gentlethem's Club: A Funeral for the Patriarchy.

Welcome to The Gentlethem's Club, a recurring cabaret production at Roots Music Project where classic cabaret meets a little sleaze.

However, this gathering is unlike any before. Consider this your invitation to the opening chapter of RIOT: A Subversive Rock Cabaret, our biggest production yet, premiering this November. RIOT is a contemporary rock cabaret fueled by matriarchy, rebellion, and queer revolution. But every revolution begins with a funeral. Before we can make room for the new, we have to lay the old to rest.

Welcome to The Funeral for the Patriarchy.

Together, we'll gather to lay outdated systems to rest with an evening of burlesque, music, circus, comedy, and unapologetic queer performance.

The Experience

7:00 PM – Doors Open

Arrive early for cocktails, conversation, live music, and a chance to browse exclusive merchandise, learn more about the upcoming production, discover ways to support the show, and take advantage of a one-night-only presale discount on RIOT tickets.

8:00 PM – Cabaret Revue

Hosted by Valentina Bandersnatch, our beloved mistress, the evening unfolds as a funeral procession unlike any other. She'll guide us as we lay the patriarchy to rest—and offer a glimpse of what comes after.

A world built on the desires of women and queers, not the demands of patriarchy. A world of pleasure, consent, safety, and magick.

Throughout the evening, you'll also catch exclusive sneak peeks from RIOT, offering a first look at the music, characters, and revolution arriving this November.

Stay after the show to mingle, celebrate, and raise a glass at the wake. Every funeral deserves a proper celebration.

Paying Your Respects

In lieu of flowers, bring dollar bills. Consider them reparations for every body, identity, and voice that patriarchy tried to diminish. Our performers gratefully accept your offerings. And to those who have benefited most from the system we’re burying—we politely suggest you make a generous contribution to the cause. Think of it as your ceremonial exit fee.

Dress Code

Funeral chic. Victorian mourning. Gothic glamour. Black tie. Widows, mourners, clergy, —or whatever your version of dressing for the end of an era looks like.

Every funeral has different levels of mourning. Some guests arrive with a single tear, some arrive with a dramatic eulogy, and some arrive ready to fund the future. Choose the ticket level that matches your preferred method of grieving. Whether you’re here to witness the downfall, support the artists, or make a generous offering to the cause, every ticket helps us send the patriarchy off in the style it deserves.

Attendance is limited, so be sure to reserve your place at the funeral by purchasing a ticket. The dearly departed wouldn’t want you to miss the service.

Doors 7:00pm. Show 8:00pm

Full bar on premises; Plenty of free parking; Lyft and Uber friendly!
