The Future of Food - Rapid City

The Future of Food - Rapid City

Overview

Share your voice in the South Dakota Healthy Nutrition Collaborative's Community Conversations.

Join us for an evening of connection, conversation, and collaboration as we work together to shape the future of food and nutrition in South Dakota.

Dinner is on us! Enjoy a meal featuring local foods while learning about South Dakota's first-ever Food Landscape Report that was created through the largest collaboration of food and nutrition partners in South Dakota's history. We will also explore FRANK (Food Resources, Access & Nutrition Knowledge)—,a first-of-its-kind data dashboard.

Most importantly, we want to hear from you.

Whether you have personal experience navigating food access, work in your community, represent an organization, serve in public office, or simply care about the health and well-being of South Dakotans, your perspective matters. During roundtable conversations, you'll have the opportunity to share what's working, identify gaps, and help shape priorities for the future.

As a thank you for your time and insights, we'll wrap up the evening with giveaways featuring local foods, cooking items, and products from South Dakota businesses.

Everyone is welcome. Join us at 5:30 p.m. for this family-friendly, alcohol-free event.

This work is funded by: The Wellmark Foundation, South Dakota Community Foundation, Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, South Dakota Department of Health, American Heart Association.

Child-friendly areas

Child-friendly areas may be available during community conversations to provide children with a welcoming space for quiet activities while adults participate. These areas are intended as a courtesy to families and are not childcare.

By allowing a child to use the child-friendly area, the adult who brought the child understands and agrees that they remain fully responsible for the child’s supervision, safety, behavior, and needs at all times. Children may be located in areas that are not always within the adult’s direct visible line of sight. Participation in the child-friendly area is voluntary, and the adult may be asked to remain nearby or respond immediately if the child needs assistance.
