AN ATHENA MINI: WHOLENESS OVER GOODNESS
A Morning with Elise Loehnen
We just couldn’t wait two years to gather again!
While our next full Athena conference will take place in fall 2027, we’re creating something new in the meantime: Athena Minis — intimate gatherings designed to bring our community together for meaningful conversations, connection, and growth.
Our first Athena Mini brings us together in Missoula for a morning with Elise Loehnen, author of On Our Best Behavior and Choosing Wholeness Over Goodness. Women are often taught to measure themselves by impossible standards: to be good, agreeable, productive, and endlessly giving. But what happens when we stop striving to meet expectations and begin the deeper work of becoming whole?
Join us for a thoughtful conversation exploring what it means to choose wholeness over goodness — and how we can bring that practice into our everyday lives. Elise will share insights from her work, followed by a Q&A and guided conversation on how we move these ideas from reflection into practice. Together, we’ll explore the expectations we carry, the stories we’ve inherited, and the possibility of creating a more honest and fulfilling way forward.
This intimate gathering is an opportunity to reconnect with the Athena community, meet new people, and make space for curiosity, reflection, and meaningful conversation. After the program, guests are invited to explore the Missoula Public Library and create their own best day in Missoula.
