Well Played: Spades on the Terrace – Class & Tournament

Join us for the ultimate evening of strategy, skill, and socializing. Weekends on the Terrace has partnered with House of Spades to bring you "Well Played"—the premier Spades Class & Tournament in Richardson!

Whether you are a seasoned pro who knows how to run a wheel, or a beginner looking to learn how to count books, this event is built for you. Come for the lessons, stay for the competitive tournament, and leave with cash prizes.

🕒 Event Schedule:

• 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Doors Open: Arrive early, grab your welcome drink, and mingle with the competition.
• 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM | The Spades Class & Free Play: Learn the rules, strategy, scoring, and table etiquette. Perfect for beginners or players looking to sharpen their game before the clock starts.
• 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM | The Tournament: Partner up and compete in a high-stakes, bracket-style tournament.

⚖️ Official Tournament House Rules:

To keep the competition fair and fierce, the tournament will strictly follow these official House Rules:

1. The Deck: Big Joker, Lil Joker, Spades on Down.
2. Opening Hand: 100 points on the first hand is an automatic win.
3. Minimum Bids: Board is 4 (you cannot bid any lower).
4. Winning Score: First team to 350 points wins.
5. Sets: Get set twice, your team loses.
6. Bidding: Bidding is a must after the first hand.
7. Sandbags: 5 bags equals minus 50 points.
8. Playing Blind: You must be at least 50 points behind to play blind. A blind bid is worth double the amount bid (e.g., Blind 6 = 120 points).
9. First Hand: First hand bids itself.
10. Combined Minimum: The minimum combined bid for both teams has to be 11, or it's books made.
11. Reneging: A renege is a penalty of 3 books. You must call the renege and know the cards played as soon as it is caught!
12. Breaking Spades: Spades need to be broken before they can be played.

Team Pass (No Food - Entry & Welcome Drinks) – $60
Admits 2 Players. Full entry into the $500 tournament bracket for your duo and 2 welcome drinks. Note: A full hotel menu will be available to order food separately.

Spades Class Only Pass – $20
Admits 1 Person. Access to the doors-open social hour and the interactive Spades Class & Free Play (4:00 PM – 6:30 PM). Includes 1 welcome drink. (Does not include entry into the 7:00 PM tournament bracket).
