Breaking the Silence

Online event
Overview

Join us for Breaking the Silence, a virtual community discussion centered on honest conversations about suicide, healing, and hope.

Behind many smiles are stories that never get told.

Suicide is one of the most difficult topics to discuss, yet honest conversations can save lives. Whether you have personally struggled with suicidal thoughts, supported someone who has, or have been impacted by the loss of a loved one, this compassionate, trauma-informed session offers a safe place to learn, reflect, and find hope.

Together, we will explore what Scripture, mental health principles, and practical care teach us about suicide and how we can respond with wisdom, compassion, and understanding.

During this session, we will:

  • Explore the causes and far-reaching effects of suicide on individuals, families, and communities.
  • Examine biblical accounts of people who experienced deep despair or considered ending their lives and reflect on God's response to their pain.
  • Compare cultural perspectives on suicide with biblical truth and trauma-informed mental health principles.
  • Learn how to recognize warning signs that someone may be considering suicide and how to respond in a caring, appropriate, and supportive way.
  • Discuss practical ways to support individuals and families healing after a suicide attempt or the loss of a loved one.
