What should I bring with me each week?

Journal or notebook, pens or pencils(no electronic devices), and water bottle.

Can I bring a laptop or tablet?

At LHWG, we write on paper with pen or pencil only -- no laptops or tablets allowed. Keyboard clacking can be distracting, as can squiggly red lines that invite you to edit as you go. There is a time to edit. This is the time to write.

Question 3

Will I share my writing with the group?

Accepted Answer

Yes! At the end of each prompt, participants are invited to share their work aloud, and receive positive comments. Writers report that they are often surprised by what others enjoy about their work.

Question 4

Is there an opportunity to share prepared work?

Accepted Answer

Yes! If you have a longer piece you are working on and would like feedback, make arrangements with the facilitator in advance. At the end of one session, we will talk briefly about the piece, take home copies to read, and provide feedback the following week.

Question 5

What kind of writing is expected?

Accepted Answer

The facilitator will provide several writing prompts during each session. What comes from that prompt is something only you and your muse can decide - fiction, non-fiction, poetry...all writing styles are welcomed and celebrated!
