A new virtual discussion series that aims to create a safe space to explore and discuss current events that impact you without the noise (and trolls) of social media.

Take a break from scrolling and chat with survivors and supporters in a moderated discussion that explores survivor-centered news and the realities of the survivor experience.

This is not a place for deep processing of trauma but rather engage in topical conversations with peers.

All genders welcome. Age 18+. Any participants who are abusive or act in bad faith will be removed from the event without a refund. Community agreements for the space will be sent prior to event start.

Suggested entrance fee of $5-$25 sliding scale. No-one turned away for lack of funds.

DIscussion moderated by Lauren Weingarten (she/her. Lauren is a survivor, victim advocate, trauma support specialist, and community builder. She is the voice and founder of MTMV Community Support Network, one of the first social media-based support communities established for survivors & supporters of survivors. Her work has shaped how we talk about trauma and sexual violence online. She is passionate about community as justice and leading conversations surrounding mental health, trauma, and survivor-informed care. Lauren works both directly with survivors and their supporters leading support groups, workshops, and trainings. As a consultant, she works with many organizations and institutions that serve the survivor community.
