More about the performers...

ADA WOOD

With roots in traditions across the north Ada finds a niche to rediscover and empower corners of traditional song. Bringing a depth of understanding to her work, unusual for her age. Finding contemporary relevance in timeless themes. With an unusual security in her northern fiddle style given the international music context in which she operates.

Key to Ada’s practice is understanding and acknowledging the attitudes - now recognised as harmful – found all too often in traditional music; and creating spaces to reclaim the underrepresented voice.

ANNE-MARIE SANDERSON

Anne-Marie Sanderson is a Cumbrian singer-songwriter whose music is at once earthy and airy, grounded yet ethereal. Drawing inspiration from nature, literature and her travels, Sanderson's haunting melodies and poetic lyrics mesmerise and enchant, with transportive effects on listeners.

Her latest album, Old Light, has been described as "uplifting and gentle" (NARC), "articulate and ethereal" (Rocking Magpie), and "melodically divine" (BBC). With influences including Nick Drake and Jesca Hoop, her intricate guitar work and captivating vocals make her a standout in the modern folk scene.

More about the venue...

Due to the remote nature of the church it does not have power. The venue will be candleit and free hot drinks will be served on arrival and in the interval (please consider bringing your own cup to cut down on waste).

There is a covered camping toilet on site.

There will be enough natural light after the gig to make your way back to your vehicles but please bring a torch just in case. The venue will be candlelit. Please bring warm clothing and blankets/extra hot drinks/cold drinks/alcohlic drinks to make yourself comfortable.

When parking on the verge (look out for the signs when you arrive) , please park as close to eachother as possible to allow for as many cars as we can (consider lift sharing where possible) and park in a way that allows farm traffic to pass on the lane.
