2026 50 States Ride

2026 50 States Ride

Overview

See new corners of the city by bike while riding on every state-named avenue.

What began more than 20 years ago as a kooky scheme by a die-hard bicyclist to ride all of DC’s 50 state-named avenues has evolved into a beloved annual DC bicycling tradition.

Join hundreds of riders for one of DC’s most unique and spirited bicycling events! Take on the epic 54-mile title route or enjoy one of our two shorter, equally engaging rides. The 50 States Ride offers a one-of-a-kind way to explore DC on two wheels— with great company, lively pit stops, and an unforgettable after-party to cap it off.

Snacks, a commemorative t-shirt, and good vibes are included with every ticket.

Choose Your Adventure:

  • Classic 50 States, 60 miles—The route that started it all. A harebrained, hilly, and highly rewarding journey that hits all 50 state-named avenues and showcases every corner of the District. Includes over 2,700 feet of climbing and endless bragging rights.
  • Roundabout Route, 30 miles — Come full circle with a scenic loop that winds through 10 of the city’s iconic traffic circles and roundabouts, first envisioned by Pierre L’Enfant.
  • Triangle Route, 10 miles — Brought to you by EYA. Short but mighty! This route highlights great bike infrastructure and hidden gems that every DC rider should know and love.

Along the way, you’ll encounter energizing pit stops stocked with snacks and refreshments to help keep you fueled and fired up. Plus, every rider receives a special event t-shirt to commemorate the day!

Pay-it-forward — We are offering an opportunity for riders to sponsor other riders to be able to ride the 50 States free of charge! You can select the “Pay-it-forward” add-on at checkout and the funds will go directly to support another rider’s 50 States journey. If you are a rider in need of sponsorship, please reach out to us at events@waba.org.

Challenge yourself, discover new parts of the city, and connect with fellow riders— the 50 States Ride is your chance to experience DC from a fresh perspective and have a blast doing it.
