Athens Face/Off

Returning for the first time since 2019, Athens Face/Off is a social and sonic experiment that motivates musicians to play new songs with new people. Sixty local musicians have been randomly divided into trios and presented with a challenge: spend exactly one month preparing an original set of material with their new bandmates! While some participants might recognize each other from around town, others might start off as total strangers. On the night of Face/Off, these 20 new bands will perform their first (and likely lAtAthens Face/Offhens Face/OffasAthens Face/Offt) show together using a multi-stage rotation for non-stop sound. This year’s proceeds will benefit Nuçi’s Space and the Athens Immigrant Rights Coalition.
