Ragas & Reveries returns to St Saviour’s Church, Pimlico, for an evening of a "Jugalbandi" (duet) of Sitar & Sarod.

ALSO FEATURING: A collaboration between Indian & European classical music with Cellist Aleksandra Pykacz

For this edition of the concert series, the internationally acclaimed Mohan Brothers - Lakshay Mohan on Sitar and Aayush Mohan on Sarod - will be joined by renowned Tabla artist Sanju Sahai.

The Sitar and Sarod are two of the most distinctive instruments of Hindustani classical music. In the hands of the Mohan Brothers, they come together in a musical conversation shaped by melody, improvisation and rhythmic interplay.

Beginning with the unhurried development of the raga, the performance will gradually move towards pulse, movement and increasingly energetic exchanges between sitar, sarod and tabla. Rooted in a centuries-old tradition, the music is created and developed spontaneously on stage, making every concert a unique experience.

Set within the atmospheric surroundings of St Saviour’s Church in Pimlico, Ragas & Reveries offers an opportunity to experience Indian classical music in an intimate London setting.

No prior knowledge of Indian classical music is required.

About the Mohan Brothers

Lakshay Mohan and Aayush Mohan are Indian classical musicians known for their Sitar & Sarod duet performances. Their musical partnership brings together the contrasting yet complementary sounds of the sitar and sarod, combining the depth of traditional raga development with spontaneous interaction between the two instruments.

In 2025, they were awarded the Economic Times Leadership Excellence Award by the Times group for excellence in Indian Classical Music.

They have performed at the leading prestigious venues globally including but not limited to:

They have appeared on popular television shows like the 'Good Day New York' on FOX5 & The Nine Show on FOX2 News, USA. They were nominated for the Global Indian Music Academy Awards for the Best Classical Instrumentalists.

After hearing them perform in 2012, Pandit Ravi Shankar selected the brothers to undertake their debut tour of the United States under his foundation. They subsequently became the first Indian classical duo to perform at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.

The Mohan Brothers have performed internationally at concert halls, festivals and cultural institutions and have collaborated with artists including Anoushka Shankar.

About Pt. Sanju Sahai

Pandit Sanju Sahai is a highly acclaimed, internationally sought-after performer and 6th generation tabla artist of the Benares lineage. He’s a disciple of the illustrious Pt. Sharada Sahai who’s known for his virtuosity and captivating spontaneity.

About Aleksandra Pykacz

Aleksandra Pykacz has completed her master’s degree in Cello Performance with distinction at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels and has received prizes at numerous competitions. Her international appearances include the Harmos Classical Festival in Portugal, the Santander Music Festival in Spain and the Tehran Contemporary Music Festival among others.
