Acclaimed Detroit singer-songwriter Jill Jack will release Wildflower, her first full-length album since 2017 and the 13th album of her celebrated career.

Wildflower finds Jack crossing musical boundaries with a vibrant collection of songs encompassing blues, folk, rock, Tex-Mex, Country and other influences. Like the resilient, free-growing bloom that inspired its title, the album refuses to be confined to a single category—an approach that reflects both Jack’s eclectic musical roots and the fiercely independent spirit that has defined her career.

“Wildflowers don’t ask permission to grow, and they don’t worry about fitting neatly into a garden,” said Jack. “This album gave me the freedom to follow each song wherever it wanted to go. After all these years of making music, I’m still discovering new sounds, new stories and new parts of myself—and I think that sense of freedom comes through on this record.”

Wildflower marks a significant new chapter for Jack, whose decades-spanning career has taken her around the world as both a solo performer and bandleader. Known for her soulful voice, vivid storytelling, quick-witted humor and heartfelt connection with audiences, Jack has built a distinctive sound blending folk, rock, country, pop and blues.

Since launching her professional career, Jack has earned 51 Detroit Music Awards and released 12 previous albums, along with singles and documentary soundtracks. She has shared stages with legendary performers including Bob Seger and Loretta Lynn and has appeared at renowned venues and festivals such as Pine Knob, The Ark, The Bluebird Cafe, South by Southwest, the Ann Arbor Folk Festival, Wheatland Music Festival and Blissfest.

Jack’s work also extends beyond the concert stage. She has composed music for documentaries and national advertising campaigns, while remaining deeply committed to missionary work, nonprofit initiatives and mentorship programs supporting artists of all ages.

To celebrate the new album, Jill Jack and her band will present the Wildflower album-release concert on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at Detroit’s historic Garden Theater (3929 Woodward Ave. in Midtown Detroit.) The performance will showcase music from Wildflower, along with favorites from throughout Jack’s career. A wonderfully diverse collection of other well-known Detroit performers will be showcased, including:

This talented three-sister band from West Michigan brings an incredible sound and undeniable stage presence. Their music blends alternative rock with modern pop hooks, featuring rich melodies and heartfelt lyrics that explore intimacy, resilience, and the beautifully messy edges of growing up.

With their natural chemistry and dynamic live energy, Checkered Lilies have a way of turning deeply personal experiences into universal anthems that connect with audiences and linger long after the final chord.
