<h2>(dis)CONNECTION: Contemporary Tellings of Belonging - OPENING</h2> Join us for the closing of (dis)CONNECTION: Contemporary Tellings of Belonging, a group art exhibition curated to highlight diverse stories exploring connection and sense of belonging through personal stories and visual artworks from a group of young artists born into an ever-changing isolating society. (dis)CONNECTION: Contemporary Tellings of Belonging is a group art exhibition made up of works from eight young artists exploring the experience of disconnection and desire for community. By amplifying diverse voices and stories, this exhibition sparks inspiration for change as each artist confronts societal systems that actively try to divide us. The created works are of varying mediums, consisting of paintings, sculptures, and installations. Although each artist tackles the theme from a differing lens, each artwork is connected by highlighting the human need for a sense of belonging, especially within a faced paced digital age. Aunt Leah's helps prevent homelessness in youth aging out of the foster care system, as well as assisting vulnerable mothers keep custody of their children.As (dis)CONNECTION is an exhibition aiming to emphasize the importance of highlighting young voices and offering a sense of community, we would love to support the wellbeing of vulnerable youth within Metro Vancouver, ultimately aiding in giving them a place to feel like they belong.
