Schubert 200 Project: Chapter I: The Beginning

The Beginning of a Three-Year Journey

Join us for the opening concert of Schubert 200, a nine-concert series marking the 200th anniversary of Franz Schubert's death in 2028. Presented by Capital Keys Performing Arts Foundation, the series explores Schubert's complete chamber music with piano over three seasons, performed by leading musicians from the Washington, D.C. area and guest artists.

The project is led by Artistic Director Ham Chan and Prof. Larissa Dedova, following Schubert's chamber music from his early works to his final masterpieces.

Chapter I: The Beginning features three works from different stages of Schubert's life: an early Violin Sonatina, the Arpeggione Sonata, and the Trout Quintet, one of his best-known chamber works.

Each performance can be enjoyed on its own while also forming part of a larger project leading up to Schubert's bicentenary in 2028.
