Hearing the Heart of Humanity: a full-day workshop

Hearing the Heart of Humanity: a full-day workshop

Overview

A full-day workshop using stories, reflection, writing, & dialogue to build deeper listening, empathy, & human connection in divided times.

Toward Deeper Listening: Hearing the Heart of Humanity in Challenging Times

What if the most important thing we could do right now is simply learn to listen more deeply?

Inspired by 40 Days Toward Deeper Listening: Hearing the Heart of Humanity, this full-day workshop from A Peace of My Mind offers an opportunity to step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with yourself and others through the transformative practice of listening.

Together, we'll explore stories of resilience, courage, and connection through photography, personal narratives, reflective writing, guided dialogue, and small-group conversation. Along the way, we'll examine the habits that help us remain grounded, curious, and compassionate—even when we encounter disagreement or uncertainty.

This is not a workshop about debate or persuasion. It's about creating space for authentic conversations, discovering common ground, and strengthening our capacity to see the humanity in one another.

Whether you work in education, healthcare, nonprofit leadership, faith communities, business, or simply want to become a more thoughtful listener, you'll leave with practical tools and fresh perspectives you can apply in your relationships, workplace, and community.

During the workshop, you'll experience:

  • Inspiring stories from the A Peace of My Mind project
  • Guided reflection and journaling exercises
  • Meaningful dialogue in pairs and small groups
  • Practices that cultivate empathy, curiosity, and presence
  • Time for personal reflection and shared learning

In a time when so many conversations divide us, this workshop offers something different: an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and rediscover the heart of our shared humanity.

Come prepared to listen, reflect, write, and connect.
Leave with renewed hope, practical skills, and a deeper appreciation for the stories that shape us all.
