August Hillside Club Bluegrass Jam:  the Outlaw

The Hillside Club is a historic Berkeley Club. Founded in the late 19th century to promote good design practices in the Berkeley hills, the Hillside Club today is a community-based membership organization supporting the arts and culture.  We also rent the club as a venue for weddings, lectures, parties of all types, galas, fundraisers and more.

Social events at the Hillside Club including potlucks, game nights, afternoon teas, and sit down dinners.

When: Monday, August 31st, 7:00-10pm Where: The Hillside Club - 2286 Cedar St., Berkeley, CA, 94709Jam Theme: “The Outlaw”Introducing jam themes at the Hillside Club Jam! This means we encourage you to call songs with the jam theme (interpret the theme as you like!). Of course all other bluegrass and country tunes are welcome as well. The theme in August is “The Outlaw”.Join us for a bluegrass jam at the Hillside Club, from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. The jam is free, and there are three rooms for jamming. The slow jam is in the green room (by the stage). BYOB (beer and wine allowed, please no hard alcohol or spirits). This is an appoximately-monthly event. Check the Hillside Club website for future dates, or send us a message through eventbrite to join our email list.A word about song selection: We encourage folks to choose songs from the bluegrass canon. If you decide not to, it’s best to choose a song that has no more than 4 chords (to avoid jam busters), and be prepared to take a moment to briefly teach the song if necessary.This jam is in Berkeley, near Oakland, in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area.
