Workshop: Evidence, Practice, and Lived Experience for CSV Prevention
Bringing together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, survivor advocates, and funders to strengthen CSV prevention.
This full-day workshop brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, survivor advocates, funders, and field-building organisations to explore how more inclusive knowledge ecosystems can strengthen efforts to prevent and respond to child sexual violence.
While research has generated important evidence on preventing child sexual violence, valuable knowledge is also produced through programme implementation, community engagement, survivor advocacy, and lived experience. However, these forms of knowledge are often generated, shared, and used in isolation. This workshop will provide a collaborative space to explore how they can be better connected to strengthen policy, programming, research, and practice.
Through facilitated discussions, peer learning, practical exercises, and collaborative problem-solving, participants will examine how different forms of knowledge are currently generated and used, identify barriers to greater integration, and explore practical approaches for building more inclusive knowledge ecosystems.
Participants will also engage with emerging resources from the Safe Futures Hub, including the Living Systematic Review on child sexual violence prevention and the Practice-Based Knowledge Framework, as examples of approaches that support the generation, synthesis, and use of diverse forms of knowledge.
The workshop will conclude with a collaborative discussion to identify priorities and practical actions for strengthening knowledge ecosystems across the child sexual violence prevention field. Insights generated will inform the development of an operational framework to support more inclusive knowledge generation and use.
