One of Canada's most enduring large Jazz ensembles performs the music of it's founder, Hugh Fraser
Known for founding VEJI (Vancouver Ensemble of Jazz Improvisation) in 1980, being part of legendary big bands run by Maynard Ferguson, Slide Hampton & Clifford Jordan, and for winning two Juno awards, Hugh Fraser was one of the greatest Jazz musicians Canada ever produced.
VEJI is proud to celebrate his musical legacy, and will be performing his music in a rare concert on October 16 at the Revue Stage in Vancouver, as part of VanJazz 2026. Featuring many original members of the band, and under the direction of Bill Clark, this ensemble will be performing many of Hugh's most loved compositions.
This concert is presented by Infidels Jazz, and is part of VanJazz26.
