Reparations Club(aka Rep Club) is a concept bookshop & creative space Curated by Blackness in Los Angeles, CA. Black, queer, and woman-owned, the culture-centered space has become an essential hub for thought leaders, storytellers, and community, known for its warmth, dedicated staff, and curation of Black & BIPOC titles.Rep Club was founded by Jazzi McGilbert, a creative force born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, CA. Since opening in 2019, Rep Club has collaborated withWell Read Black Girl,Noname's Book Club,The Stacks, theCalifornia African American Museum,Cuties LA,Melody Ehsani,Nike,Beyoncé, and many more. Rep Club has been featured in theNew York Times,Los Angeles Times,LAist, and more.

Rep Club's monthly space to read alone, together. This one is for the introverted homies to connect in a cozy, alcohol de-centered space.

WHO &amp; WHAT: This is not a book club. It's a monthly space where we come together to read whatever we want, both by ourselves, and in community, because reading can be hard, but it really is fundamental.Bring a book or buy one for 15% off! We'll come together, read quietly, discuss a little louder, and maybe sip and snack on something.Rep Club will provide light snacks and drinks, cozy (quiet!) vibes, earplugs, and book lights to borrow or purchase.Feel free to bring anything that would make you feel at home (i.e., extra pillows, blankets, homies, or a book). WHEN: Friday, July 17th from 6:30-9:30pm*WHERE: In-Person at Reparations Club (3054 S. Victoria Ave. LA, CA 90016)HOW: Please purchase tickets above! We're offering three sliding scale ticket options ($5, $10, $20) to make this as accessible as possible while also covering our costs (like the snacks). Please pay what you can, and if the tickets are cost-prohibitive in any way for you, send us an email.If you get in off the waitlist, there is a suggested donation of $5 minimum. If you want to pay more, you can, and you can also decline to pay $5. *Confirmed Ticket Holders: doors are at 6:30pm sharp! Get here early for the best seats in the house. Late entry will be strictly based on capacity and, unfortunately, cannot be guaranteed.If you are on the Standby/Waitlist, we’ll squeeze in as many waitlist folks as we can (comfortably &amp; safely) starting at 6:40pm. In order to provide this monthly space, which requires planning and staffing on our part, we really appreciate communication if you will no longer be able to attend. No-shows really cramp our style (of course excluding emergencies). Purchasing a ticket, at any price, means you're claiming a spot from someone else so please be mindful!Event tickets are non-refundable.
